How much should I expect to pay on my florals and styling?
As a wedding specialist, I hear this question often. UK Bride suggest that couples should expect to allocate 10-15% of their overall wedding budget to flowers. However, you’ve guessed it, the real answer is a little more complicated. Flower prices vary considerably. From extravagant wedding bouquets to the statement designs that we all love from Instagram such as ceremony arches, they all contain a significant amount of ingredients, time and expertise to construct, so they do come at a cost but they are totally worth it in my opinion! As a rough guide most of the couples that I work with have a flower budget of between £2,000 – £10,000.
Do you have a minimum order?
At W&B we have a starting price of £2,000 for wedding florals for couples wanting both wedding party and venue flowers. I feel that operating a minimum price ensures that I can deliver the best quality service and use the best quality ingredients to design and produce the wedding that you deserve. I want each detail to create unique and incredible floral memories that last a lifetime.
I have great respect for the costs incurred when planning a wedding so I explore ways to maximise your budget and offer ideas on how I might repurpose designs to extend their enjoyment. To avoid confusion, I should state that minimum spend does not mean that you will not necessarily be able to have everything on your wish list.
Are there any hidden fees that I should expect?
All of my fees are completely transparent. My quote will include costs that can sometimes remain hidden by other wedding suppliers such as travel, site visits, take down fees and hire of wedding décor props.
Your price is more than another quote that I have received why is this?
Selecting your floral designer purely based on price does not mean that you will receive the same quality design or customer experience. At W&B I create statement full floral designs that maximise impact using the freshest ingredients using sustainable floristry techniques and ingredients wherever possible to respect the environmental impact that weddings have on our environment.
We don’t just drop off the wedding bouquets and other floral designs then leave the venue; instead we are on hand to check that you are happy with every last detail before we go and we move designs from the ceremony to the reception. And finally, we facilitate the gifting on of florals after the wedding to you and your guests or to our local hospice. This is all as part of the highest service standards that we uphold. How far do you travel for weddings?
Typically, we restrict our weddings within a 2–3-hour radius of York. However, we will definitely consider on a case-by-case basis weddings further afield outside of Yorkshire if the couple are happy to pay the additional costs that may be incurred with this.
Do you provide any styling services?
Yes! With the option of providing both the florals and styling elements for your day you can have just one point of contact and one team turning your wedding vision into a reality. Or, if you have booked a wedding Stylist or a wedding planner then I always love the opportunity to work collaboratively with more amazingly talented wedding professionals.
I am worried that we don’t live near to our wedding venue will this matter?
For couples living abroad or some distance away from their chosen wedding venue I know that trusting suppliers is even more daunting. With experience of finding solutions to any of the challenges that might be faced by distance, I have developed working practices to allow for free and regular communication; following your lead on your plans towards the big day.
